Description
Newly remodeled vacation home. Sandpoint is the quaint, fun, friendly, little town on Lake Pend O'Reille at the base of the Schweitzer Ski Resort - come visit us! There are live concerts on Lake Pend O'Reille with Big Name Bands in summer, Art Walk, Galleries, Art & Craft Shows, Auctions, Flea Market, Wine Tasting, and Lakeside Restaurants. Coldwater Creek's Home Office is in downtown Sandpoint on 1st Ave. There is a Farmer's Market 2 blks from the house (summers only) offering everything from fresh vegs, fruits, baked & canned goods to jewelry and crafts. A little town with big things to do.
When you think of Sandpoint, you think of outstanding recreation in all four seasons. In summer a vision of lakes, mountains, and rivers, music, art and culture, combine in a setting of pristine forests, enchanting waterways and vistas of mountains that take your breath away. There are art and music festivals, fishing and theme parks, golfing and bowling. Come enjoy warm and sunny summer days and comfortably cool summer nights. Sandpoint City beach has no entrance fee and the large, beautiful grassy park allows picnics and swimming, tennis & hoops, and of course, all boating activities.
In winter, you can’t beat the skiing. Just a fifteen minute drive from Schweitzer Ski Resort, now expanded to nine ski lifts, 2900 skiable acres plus "open bowl" skiing! 92 ski trails, YES, ninety-two! 10% beginners & 40% intermediates. Sandpoint is a skiers and snowboarders paradise and Idaho's best kept secret, with multiple jumps and lighted-trail night skiing! And if you’re a die-hard fisherman, try the ice-fishing on the lake.
This NEWLY remodeled, 2 story 4 bedroom /2 bath vacation home was built in the late 1800's. It is a half a block from downtown Sandpoint, ID, within walking distance to beautiful Lake Pend Oreille and City Beach Park as well as shopping, dining, Farmer's Market and most everything else Sandpoint has to offer. There is a mural of the Schweitzer Basin on one of the living room walls that was painted by the last owner of the property, Russell Kotschevar, a well known local artist, sign painter and builder. He owned many properties in Sandpoint including what was once known as the 'Kamloops Klub' in downtown Sandpoint and was a veteran of Iwo Jima during WWII. Mr. Kotschevar was a gifted woodcarver and carved 'Pend O'Reille Pete' from a solid Idaho white pine. “Pete” can be visited at US Bank just a couple of blocks from the house. “Pete” is pretty famous and travels, occasionally visiting exhibits in different states.
