The busy beachfront town of Whitianga is centrally located to all the following outlying beaches, so staying in and around the town can give you the best of both worlds. There are all the shops, restaurants and cafés, lots of sea and land activities, our holiday homes here are all close to either Buffalo Beach, Brophy’s Beach or the estuary. Buses, ferries, air services, rental vehicles, taxis are all on hand to help you get about. Bikes and boats are available for hire. Many take day trips from here to the north to Simpsons Beach, Kuaotunu, Rings Beach, Matarangi and Whangapoua or turn off at Kuaotunu over the Blackjack Hill to Otama and Opito Bay. You can make a day trip from Whitianga starting with the passenger ferry from the wharf to Ferry Landing across the harbor and catch the shuttle bus which operates 5 times a day between there and Front Beach, Cooks Beach, Hahei and Hot Water Beaches.
