Five miles from the main body of Kootenay Lake, Harrop House is accessible by a free five-minute, on-demand 24-hour-a-day ferry, giving the community an air of being away from it all. Fjord-like Kootenay Lake is 80 miles long and surrounded by 7-9,000 ft. mountains. Wildlife abounds, including eagles, deer, elk, wild turkeys and huge rainbow trout.
